his year 2012, saw the largest number of boats competing in any Sigfa tournament since it's first tournament, some 16 years ago. There were 15 boats from New Zealand, (thanks to the generous sponsorship of Pacific Forum Line, in shipping these boats to Apia). two boats from American Samoa and fifteen boats fron Samoa. Plus a fishing kyack from Samoa. A total of 33 competing boats.
Next year, the contingent from NZ may be as many as twenty boats.

In terms of weather, we couldn't have wished for better conditions. In terms of fish caught, there were a number of marlin tagged and caught and brought in. The largest landed being 196 kg. Also many sailfish were either tagged or landed. Other species were in reasonable supply.

Below, are summarized the boats participating and the skippers of these boats.
